10 months old!

WOW Where has the time gone! Jenna Kelley is now 10 months old. How did that happen?
I want to know where that little 6 pound 8 ounce peanut went?
Well She is no longer a little 6 pound 8 ounce baby but she is still our little peanut!
What is going on with Jenna Kelley:
Weight: 15 pounds 8 ounces
Height: 28 inches
Diaper Size: 2
Clothing: 6 months
Favorite Food: Cheese
Favorite time of the day: When Daddy comes home from work
Nap: 2 times during the day typically from 10-11:30 and then 2-4
Bedtime: 8:00pm and then sleeps until 8:00am a full 12 hours!

Other fun facts:
- She is crawling everywhere!
- She can stand up by herself but once she realizes it she drops back down.
- She walks really well holding onto our fingers or her walker toy.
- She eats a ton of food!
- She LOVES being outside.

We have enjoyed every second of being parents! It has been a roller coaster ride and we don't expect it to stop anytime soon! We have started having to discipline. She is smart enough to understand what she is allowed to do and what she is not. The discipline has been a challenge but it is also rewarding.

Only 2 more months until our baby girl is a year old! We are working on all the details for her 1st Birthday Party. We will be having the party on Friday July 1st at James Island County Park in the shelter by the play ground. The official party will not begin until around 5:30 but we have the shelter all day so we plan on being out there all day playing. So please come join us! :)

Other exciting news:
Daddy & Mommy will be going away for a week! Jenna will be staying with Papa, Nana, and Aunt Hope Betts. We will be going to Lancaster CA for Spiritual Leadership Conference. We just finished booking everything last night! We have flights, rental car and a hotel. I think we are set! We are looking forward to having some time alone. We are also looking forward to the services and what God will do in our hearts.

Happy Mother's Day

This was my second Mother's Day but my first one I could see my sweet Jenna. Last year she was still inside of me but I was still a Mommy. Jason did an awesome job of making this a wonderful Mother's Day. On Saturday he took Jenna out shopping and they came home with beautiful flowers that Jenna picked out. Mother's Day started with Jason giving me my gift. He gave me a day of pampering. I'm so excited about going to the salon and being able to feel pretty! We were so blessed to be able to spend Mother's Day with both of our Moms. Jason's parents came in town for the weekend. We all went to breakfast at IHOP then we went to church and after church we went to my parents house and had Papa Murphy's pizza for lunch. I also made my first red velvet cake for dessert. It was delicious. After a wonderful afternoon nap we went back to church for the evening service and Jason had the opportunity to preach. I always enjoy hearing my husband preach but it was an extra special treat to hear him preach on Mother's Day. He preached on Psalm 139:23-24. It was such a wonderful Mother's Day!

9 months and Happy Resurrection Sunday!

There are been many fun and exciting things going on since the last post. Jenna is crawling all over the house and getting into EVERYTHING!!! We will put her on her play mat in the living room and within a few minutes she is sitting in the kitchen watching Mommy cook. I think she is ready to start helping. :)We are having a blast following her and also beginning to teach her what she can play with and what she can't. She is doing very well at learning the meaning of "no ma'am." She has also learned how to stand by herself. She has only done it a few times but she is starting to figure it out. The first time she did it was in the church nursery. I was so happy I was able to watch her! She is growing up way to fast!!!

9 months old!

At 9 months old Jenna was 14 pounds 3 ounces and 27 inches long. She is still a little peanut but she has started eating a lot more and I'm sure that when we weigh her for 10 months she will be a lot bigger!

I also opened a new toy for Jenna. Someone gave her stacking cups for a baby shower but I didn't open all the toys right away. That was something I saved. I opened them around her 9 month birthday and she LOVES them! She will put one in each hand and one in her mouth and crawl around and pull up on the couch and bang them together.

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

This was Jenna's first Easter! We did all the fun things for girls on Easter. Jenna got to have a new dress, shoes, and hair bow. We also made her an Easter basket.

The day before she went to her first Easter Egg Hunt at Granddad & Grandma Franklin's church. She found 10 eggs and put them in her basket all by herself. Unfortunately she couldn't eat anything in the eggs but Daddy & Mommy didn't mind eating it for her. :)

Easter Sunday began by Jenna seeing her Easter basket and discovering all the fun things inside. She had her Easter outfit, bubbles, a ball, a cup, yogurt melts, and a "My First Easter" bib. She was all excited about her new toys. After the fun of opening the basket we got her dressed for Church and headed off for the day. We had wonderful services at Victory Baptist Church. Daddy organized a wonderful music program. He got to sing a solo, duet, and in a quartet. He has a wonderful voice. :)

After Church we went to Granddad and Grandma Franklin's house and had lunch and more Easter Egg Hunts. This time Jenna could eat what was in the Easter Eggs. Grandma put Gerber puffs inside. After all the fun Jenna was ready for a long nap. While she slept Daddy & Mommy had an Easter Egg Hunt. Mommy found more eggs than Daddy! :)

Granddad and Grandma Franklin also made her an Easter basket.

We had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday. We had fun but the most important part of the day was remembering that Jesus is no longer in the tomb HE IS RISEN. We strive to teach Jenna that Jesus is the only way and all the incredible things He has done so she can one day know Him as her own Savior.

Mrs. Dawn Phillips had shown me something called Resurrection Eggs. I used them while teaching my 4 & 5 year olds. The kids loved shaking the eggs to figure out what was going to be inside and how it dealt with the Easter Story. I went the day after to LifeWay and bought a set for Jenna. We will definitely be doing those next year!
